Duo Lux Plug-In LED Night Light & Power Failure Torch – a bright, rechargeable emergency lighting solution with motion sensor technology, dusk-to-dawn night light mode, and automatic power-cut activation. Designed to stay plugged in and ready, it works as a hallway night light, blackout emergency torch, and motion-sensor safety light all in one.
How To Use
- Plug In & Charge: Insert into the plug-in cradle and keep switched on at the wall.
- Motion Sensor Mode (Default): Activates when motion is detected in low light and stays on for ~20 seconds.
- Dusk Till Dawn + Motion Mode: Press the side button while in the cradle to switch modes — constant soft night light that brightens when motion is detected.
- Handheld Torch: Remove from the cradle to use as a portable torch. Top LEDs turn on automatically; press the side button for front LEDs or flashing mode.
- Power Cut Mode: If mains power fails, top LEDs automatically activate, providing up to 8 hours of light when fully charged.

Please Note – Important Information
- The night light responds to ambient light levels (not a clock). Shadows or low daylight may trigger it.
- The night light and motion sensor features cannot be manually turned off on this model.
- Power cut detection works only when the torch is charged, correctly seated in the cradle, and the wall socket is switched on.
- If you want a power failure only light that can be manually switched off, consider the Xtralite NiteSafe Maxi.

FAQs
- Can The Night Light / Sensor be Turned off?
- No — there is no way to disable these functions. If you want a model that can be used just as a power-failure light, please choose the Maxi.
- How Does The Power Cut Light Work?
- When the model is plugged into a socket and has sufficient charge, the emergency power-cut light on the top of the torch will automatically activate when power is no longer detected at the charging base.
- How Does The Charging Base Work?
- Each base uses induction charging technology, similar to an electric toothbrush. The torch draws a small amount of power from the mains to remain charged when in the cradle. Once removed from the cradle or if the socket is turned off, the torch will begin to run down its charge until it is placed back in the cradle.
- Can I plug this into an extension cable?
- No — it is not recommended to use this product in an extension cable as the emergency light may not trigger correctly.
- What is the warranty?
- Each model comes with a 12 month warranty period from date of receipt of goods. An invoice or proof of purchase may be needed to validate a warranty claim.
