NiteSafe Duo + LED Dual Motion Sensor Night Light With Torch & Power Failure Light

The Duo + offers two modes Motion Sensor and Dusk Till Dawn With Motion Sensor.

When the Duo + is initially plugged in it will be in Motion Sensor mode. In this mode the front LED lights automatically come on in darkness when motion is detected, stay on for approximately 20 seconds and then turn off.

To switch from Motion Sensor mode to Dusk Till Dawn and Motion Sensor combined, simply press the button on the back of the torch whilst it is inside the cradle. In this mode the front LEDs will automatically turn on, emitting a soft low light during darkness and remain on until the room becomes light again.

In this mode the front LEDs will increase in brightness when motion is detected and then return to the low, constant night light.

When there is a power cut, or if the wall socket is switched off, the top LED light will automatically turn on, providing a direct source of light during a power outage. Once in power failure mode the torch will begin to use its internal charge, with this model lasting up to 10 hours.

Remove the torch from the cradle at any point to use it as a handheld torch. The top LEDs will automatically turn on. Press the button on the back to illuminate the front LEDs, and press again to activate SOS flashing mode.

This product is intended to remain inside the plug-in cradle in a wall socket for the majority of the time unless being used as a handheld torch. The torch must be returned to the cradle to recharge. Power cut detection only works when the torch has charge and is correctly seated in the cradle with the socket switched on.

Please note that the night light feature activates whenever the torch detects that ambient light levels are lower than natural daylight. This can be caused by shadows, objects partially covering the unit, or the time of day, depending on where the torch is plugged in.

The torch does not use time-based or “smart” technology to determine whether it is day or night. Instead, it responds purely to light levels and will switch on when dusk-type lighting conditions are detected.

There is no way to manually control or override this feature. The only way to prevent the night light from activating during the day is to plug the torch into a location that receives consistent, uninterrupted daylight.

Please note that the night light and/or motion sensor features can not be turned off with this model. If you are looking for a power failure only light, we recommend our Xtralite NiteSafe Maxi model, as this torch can be switched to “off” on the unit itself but will still activate during a power cut.
